The Second Moscow Solar System Symposium (2M-S3)
Space Research Institute holds starting from 2010 annual international symposiums on Solar system exploration.
Main topics of these symposia includes wide range problems, consisting formation and evolution Solar system, planetary
systems of other stars; exploration of Solar system planets, their moons, small bodies; study of the Sun, interplanetary
environment, exobiology problems. Experimental planetary studies and preparation for space missions are considered also at
these symposia.
The second Moscow international Solar System Symposium (2M-S3) will takes place from 10 till 14 October 2011.
Subject matter of this symposium – “Moons of planets”. This topic is close to scientific problems of several projects what
are under developing in Russia: “Phobos-Soil”, “Luna-Glob”, “Luna-Resource”, “Europa-Lander”.
The following sessions will be held during the symposium:
- Martian moons: unsolved questions.
- Luna: scientific frontiers.
- Galileo satellites: new challenges.
- Titan investigations
- Planetary science: Recent results of current planetary missions (not to moons only).
- Future planetary missions.
Scientists and specialists of planetary exploration are invited for participation in 2M-S3.
The program committee will consider submitted reports corresponded to the subject of the symposium.
These reports can be oral or presented at posters sessions according to a decision of the program committee.
