Description of the file (with extension '.gbs') containing the magnetic conjugations of some satellite and groundbased magnetic observatory

Let consider as an example the numerical file with name 'ae.gbs'. This file contains the information about INTERBALL Auroral Probe & EISCAT magnetic conjugations as a function of the Universal time.

As a criteria of the magnetic conjugation is used the location of the satellite's magnetic footprint's trace inside of the polygon determined by the magnetic observatory.

The version of the magnetic field model used during magnetic mapping is shown on the last column (MOD IOPT) of the file. The stop trace altitude 110 km is used during magnetic mapping.

For selected time intervals the information as follows is shown with 10-min step:

1. UTYYMMDD DATE: year (YYYY), month (MM), day (DD)
2. HHMMSS Universal time: .hhmnss
3. NRG the simulative geophysical region corresponding to the satellite position
3. H (km) the satellite's altitude above reference ellipsoid
4. GLONS (deg)the satellite's geographical longitude
5. GLATS (deg) the satellite's geographical latitude
6. GLONF (deg) the geographical longitude of the magnetic footprint in the Northern hemisphere
7. GLATF (deg) the geographical latitude of the magnetic footprint in the Northern hemisphere
8. CORLAT (deg) the corrected geomagnetic latitude
9. CORMLT (h) the corrected geomagnetic local time
10. arcln (Re)the length of the magnetic field line (satellite - footprint)
11. MOD IOPT the magnetic field model version used during magnetic mapping
