Datatake ERS-1 SAR July 10, 1994 at 19:40 Lake Ladoga North-West Russia Comment This is a composite of two ERS-1 SAR images of the eastern coast of the Lake Ladoga, Russia. Two atmospheric fronts can be delineated: one front separates an area of very low wind speed at the coast from an area of intermediate wind speed in the image center, and the other front separates the latter from an area of high winds in the open sea (lower left part of the image). Surface films are visible only in the middle part, i.e., at intermediate wind speeds, thus pronouncing the two fronts on either sides. Image |
