Abstract:

A choice of a means for reliable solving the problem of revealing the latent process or signal structural patterns is considered. As it is shown, the Fourier analysis frequently used for this purpose (and unfortunately widely adopted) is not to be recommended for solving the problems of such a kind especially having some peculiar features. For the latter, one should address some specialized methods. One of them (using the so-called D-transformation ) is presented and its inherent potentialities are demonstrated. The basic findings are illustrated by many examples including real photometric signatures.
