The above color images are taken from the "Presidential Panorama", showing details of the surrounding landscape in more detail than previously seen. The black and white images show the rightmost of the Twin Peaks in the sharpest view yet. They were processed to bring out the stratification detail in the hill, clearly seen in the image on the right.

These images, color stretched and enhanced by Dr. Timothy Parker, show where the airbags bounced and rolled on the surface, disturbing soil and revealing darker material underneath the immediate surface, displacing and compressing rocks into the soft surface. The image to the right shows the latest and most accurate placement of the actual landing site, using enhanced Viking Orbiter images.
