Mars Climate Orbiter: Launch -9 Days

The orbiter battery was charged and the T-7 functional test was performed successfully.

Mars Polar Lander: Launch - 33 Days

The JPL Director's Mission Readiness Review and Lockheed Martin Astronautics (LMA) President's Review were conducted. Flight Software (FSW) Build 8.2 was loaded on the lander. An additional 2 days of margin were identified in the Boeing post-mate flow and a tentative agreement has been reached to allocate that as added spacecraft margin by delaying the mate to December 17.
