Mars Climate Orbiter: Launch -18 Days

Final closeout activities are progressing on schedule. Flight Sofware (FSW) patch 8.2.1.D was loaded and the spacecraft was powered down for the final time until the F-7 functional test on the Delta stack at SLC-17A on December 1.

Mars Polar Lander: Launch - 42 Days

The parachute and mortar were installed but final mate was not accomplished due to a mismatch between mortar and flight connector.

The Bonum spacecraft was launched on a Delta at 7:00 pm - this clears launch pad 17B for the lander - no other Delta launches occur before the Mars Climate Orbiter on December 10.
