1998 MARS SURVEYOR PROJECT STATUS REPORT November 17, 1998 John McNamee Mars Surveyor 98 Project Manager Mars Climate Orbiter: Launch -23 Days Battery conditioning was completed. The Pressure Modulator Infrared Radiometer (PMIRR) and Mars Color Imager (MARCI) instruments were cleaned. Final closeout activities are progressing. Mars Polar Lander: Launch - 47 Days The lander launch rehearsal was conducted successfully (vehicle powered; end-to-end test through acquisition and transition to cruise).
