Mars Surveyor 98 Project ManagerMars Climate Orbiter (At Kennedy Space Center): Launch -73 Days
The orbiter was loaded with hydrazine fuel without incident. All plans and procedures are in place for oxidizer set up, sampling, and loading today and tomorrow. Flight software build 8.0 will be delivered on Monday October 5 in order to incorporate the processor hang up fix into the build.
Mars Polar Lander (In Denver, Colorado): Launch -97 days
Diode rework/retesting of the Power Distribution and Drive Unit (PDDU) and Command and Data Handling (C&DH) boxes is progressing ahead of schedule. Preparations continue for the shipment of the lander to Kennedy Space Center (KSC) on October 1. Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) set up and lander clean room tent installation in the Spacecraft Assembly and Encapsulation Facility (SAEF-2) are in process.
