Welcome to the MVACS Live Downlink page! This is your starting point to view full-resolution images and image mosaics from the surface of Mars as they are being received by the science teams on Earth. We will let you know when to expect live downlink as soon as the spacecraft team has established communications and the exploration begins! Please stay tuned until then. Once a downlink session begins and images are received, they will be available here as a slide show. You may connect at any time. If you are connecting during a session already in progress, you will be directed to the most recent image from Mars. The page will be automatically updated when a new image becomes available. You may also choose to restart the show from the beginning of the current downlink session, or click back and forth, or pause the show. An example of a slide show page is shown here. The current image, related time and geometric information, a spectrum showing the camera filter color, and a context panorama are displayed on the page. If you are connecting between downlink sessions, then the last available image will be displayed, and you will be notified when the next live downlink is expected. The live downlink will be available as a new session when the next images are received. Additional streaming live content from NASA TV and the UCLA Mars Science Operations Facility are available from our Partner Web Sites. |
