8 December 1996

These images were obtained from the NASA Infrared Telescope Facility at Mauna Kea Observatory. They are a small subset of a larger data set that includes infrared images from 1.56 to 4.15 microns. Albedo features in the near-infrared are similar to features seen in the visible, and the contrast of major features such as Acidalia (center, north) indicates that the overall atmospheric dust activity remains low at this time. These IR observations will continue at approximately monthly intervals through next July.
